About The Project:
In this project, our client came to DJ Moore Lofts with plans to transform their confined attic space into an expansive flat roof dormer. Having checked out some of the loft conversions in Aylesbury we’d previously completed, they had complete confidence in our team to execute their vision.

What We Did:
This project began slightly differently from our typical conversions, as the property already had attic trusses installed. Usually, we’d work with the existing space by converting the attic into a livable space and installing a set of stairs. However, our client wanted to maximise their space and level up their home with a large master bedroom, a small office, and a large ensuite. All of this could be achieved with a rear flat roof dormer.
It was important for the conversion to blend in with the property, so by reusing roof tiles and colour-matching the render, all additions looked as if they were in the original build. Two pitched roof dormers were installed with green UPVC windows to complement the home’s front profile perfectly. The large dormer, which can be seen from the rear of the property, provides the space for the three new rooms.
Internally, the space has been completely transformed from a dark and confined attic to a spacious loft flooded with natural light. By extending the stairs over the existing stairwell, the client didn’t lose any space. So, even after the addition of a huge bed and dressing table, there’s plenty of space available in the master bedroom.
In the office, we’ve created an area perfect for working from home and even introduced an airing cupboard to relocate the Megaflo tank. The pitched roof dormer opens up the space and fills the office with plenty of light during the day. Additionally, our highly-skilled carpenter, George, designed and manufactured a desk and some fitted furniture to maximise the space available in the office.
The bathroom steals the show in this conversion. The large shower is surrounded by bright blue tiles, a 1800mm fixed glass pane, and a golden finish to exude luxury. Within the shower, you’ll find a large soap box illuminated by an LED light, adding to the bathroom’s style and practicality. Equipped with his and hers sinks and mirrors, this bathroom is the perfect ensuite for any master bedroom.
